Pedro E. Segarra
Deputy Superintendent for Region 2
Pedro joined Camelot Education in 2003. He has spent his entire career working with youth and vulnerable youth. While in college, he worked three years as a peer counselor and two years as a summer camp counselor at a residential facility for court-adjudicated juveniles. It was in this role that he decided to continue working with vulnerable youth as his career. Pedro has a thirst for helping young people turn their lives in a positive direction.
Pedro has over three decades of experience in educating vulnerable student populations. As Deputy Superintendent with Camelot Education, Pedro oversees eight programs across two states, serving approximately 1,500 students annually. Pedro has played an integral role in expanding Camelot’s programs and services into Philadelphia, PA, Richmond, VA, Lancaster, PA, and Chicago, IL.
Upon graduating college, Pedro went back to the organization where he worked for two summers while in college and remained there for 17 years before leaving to establish a residential program for court-adjudicated students in Puerto Rico, eventually becoming the CEO of the organization. In 2003, Pedro returned to the United States and joined Camelot Education.
Pedro has been married for over 40 years, has two children and five grandchildren. Pedro is a graduate of Kutztown University in Pennsylvania, where he played four years of varsity football and was President of the Hispanic Cultural Organization. Pedro speaks fluent Spanish and enjoys watching college and professional football, reading, listening to music, and attending the theater.
